Canterbury Fencing Club is home to between eighty to one hundred Fencers of all ages and abilities.

The club meets at Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys.

All Fencers have an individual lesson from one of the qualified coaches and are able to train and Fence using the electric equipment provided by the club.

In addition to individual Fencing lessons all members take part in group footwork sessions under the guidance of one of the coaches.

The coaching team comprises of Paul Romang, Alex Brentnall,Luke Reynolds,and visiting International coaches.

Beginners are provided with equipment but are encouraged to purchase their own as soon as practicable.

Tailored competition programmes are arranged for each Fencer in order to maximise exposure to suitable competitions at appropriate levels in an effort to further enhance club member's Fencing progress.

The club runs three Canterbury Challenge Competitions a year as well as many other events.From July 2007 a new series of competitions called THE THREE SERIES have been devised with end of series prizes worth £200 for each catagory.(see dates in forms folder).

From December 2006 a new event, the Mendelenyi Memorial Sabre Competition, has been introduced. Invitees include Fencers from Russia, Poland and Hungary.all profits from this will be donated to the British Heart Foundation.

Details of all of these events can be found under Events or Forms pages. Coach transport is organised to all appropriate events and Alex Brentnall plus invited international coaches will travel with the team to coach.

Juniors tend to Fence from 6 until 8 with adults and more senior Fencers staying later.Veteran fencers (or beginners) are made very welcome.

Four one week courses are arranged every year when some of the top coaches in the world are invited.

The club operates all year round and the current fees are £119 for a seventeen week period.
